MADISON, New Jersey (Morris County)  

  

As of the 2000 United States Census, the population was 16,530. It also is known as "The Rose City". It’s land area is just a little over 4.19 square miles.

Madison’s railroad system assisted in the growth of population after the Civil War to transport farm produce grown in the town to the markets of New Jersey and New York. Eventually the flourishing  rose growing industry prospered and Madison acquired its nickname, The ROSE City, which it is still known today.

Downtown Madison is charming with lovely architecture, tree-lined streets, a “no-meter” parking district spotted with shops, restaurants and service industries. It has a reputation of academics with Drew University, Fairleigh Dickenson University in its wing.
